Její současné nároky na životní prostředí nám prozradí mnohé o stavu krajiny v uvedené době i o následné degradaci pískovcových oblastí.

Findings of species-rich gastropod communities from 9000-4000 B.C. demonstrate that recent species-poor sandstone areas displayed much higher species diversity both in flora and fauna in the past. This pattern can also be supported by a surprising fossil finding of the gastropod species Macrogastra latestriata. The land snail is only known from a few sites in the Czech Republic at the present. Its recent habitat requirements provide valuable information on the state of the landscape in the past and about consequent sandstone area degradation.
