The cultural landscape of North Korea is interesting for us as it is organized in a quite different way to similar landscape in Central Europe. Rice fields and their system of dikes, irrigation canals, roads or waterways represent the main landscape feature producing the typical agricultural character of the landscape. Everywhere we can meet with intense use of land, even the smallest piece of land. Vegetation of a semi-natural character which is common in our geographical conditions, such as meadows, pastures, shrubs or hedges are entirely missing.
