V Severní Koreji je intenzivně využívaná kulturní krajina velmi ostře oddělena od téměř nedotčené krajiny přírodní. Při porovnání s krajinou středoevropskou tu sice najdeme podobné strukturní celky, chybí tu ale drobnozrnná mozaikovitost s pestře se střídajícími nevelkými plochami polí, luk a lesů.

In North Korea, the very intensively cultivated cultural landscape is sharply distinguished from an almost untouched natural landscape. When we compare it with the Central European landscape, similar structures can be found, but a small-scale mosaic of alternating areas of fields, meadows and forests is entirely missing.
