A highly decorative woody species with low requirements as to environmental conditions, originally from China, has frequently been planted in Europe. However, the introduction of this species used for recultivation of abandoned (excavation) sites, and planting in cities or around new buildings has some disadvantages. It frequently has the character of an aggressive invasive species which influences the composition of original communities and causes their destruction. So far 202 localities of this type have been registered in the Czech Republic and an increase in their number is anticipated.
