This is the first paper in a long time to present the reader with some organs and other structures in the bodies of the bivalvian species Sphaerium corneum, Sphaerium nucleus and Musculium lacustre of the family Sphaeriidae. At present, their taxonomy is the subject of intensive research. The microanatomy and histology of the molluscan group was intensively studied in the first half of the 20th century but somewhat neglected in the following period. The material was embedded in paraffin and histological sections 5 to 10 mm thick were stained using Masson’s triple stain.
