Rostliny jsou napadány řadou mikroorganismů, z nichž pouze houbové organismy během dlouhé koexistence vyvinuly schopnost aktivní penetrace (mechanický tlak, enzymatické procesy). Fytopatogenní „houby“ kolonizují různé typy rostlinných pletiv a vyvolávají zásadní změny v metabolismu, ale i anatomii hostitele. V článku se střetává přístup fytopatologa a rostlinného anatoma s cílem přiblížit čtenáři tyto patologické změny.

Plants are infested by the whole range of microorganisms among which only fungus organisms have developed the ability to penetrate actively (by means of mechanic pressure or enzymatic processes). Phyto-pathogenic fungi attack different plant tissues and cause substantial changes in the metabolism, as well as in the host anatomy. The article combines the approach of a phytopathologist with that of a plant anatomist to make these pathological changes understandable for readers.
