Invazní a nepůvodní druhy komáry představují pro Evropany vážnou zdravotní hrozbu z pohledu přenosu řady virových exotických nákaz (např. horeček chikungunya, dengue nebo Zika). Tento přehled popisuje nejdůležitější invazní druhy komárů v Evropě včetně onemocnění, jež mohou přenášet, a také zdůrazňuje potřebu zavedení managementu nákaz přenosných komáry dokonce v regionu střední Evropy.

Invasive mosquito species present a major health threat in Europe as vectors of exotic viral diseases such as chikungunya, dengue or zika fevers. This review describes the most important invasive mosquito vectors in Europe including diseases they could transmit, and also highlights the need to implement mosquito-borne diseases management even in the Central European region.
