Only little attention has been paid to roots in carnivorous/insectivorous plants. When comparing anatomy structure of roots in Drosera adelae, Dionaea uscipula and Sarracenia rubra, some differences were found in certain features. The absence of lignin in wood ele-ments suggests that the role of roots is more in transpiration and nutrition than mechanical one.
