In this series on the phylogeny of birds and their relations to dinosaurs, a presentation is made of the history of the discovery of the Archeopteryx (Archeopteryx lithographica) as well as current knowledge of its anatomy and morphology. Special attention is paid to habitats in lagoons in Solnhofen Limestone during the Upper Jurassic period.
