Křoviny jsou odpradávna součástí středoevropské kulturní krajiny, byly využívány jako pestrý zdroj různých materiálů i potravy. Dodnes tvoří v některých oblastech významnou složku pastvin a pastevních lesů a výrazně tato společenstva strukturují. Příkladem jsou křovinaté pastviny v rumunském Banátu, kde jsme doložili pozitivní vliv křovin v interakci s pastvou na jemnozrnnou mozaiku vegetace a celkovou druhovou diverzitu.

Shrubs were present in the ancient cultural landscapes of central Europe a long time ago, serving as a source of diverse materials and food. Shrubs have remained an important structuring component of pastures and wood pastures in Romanian Banat up to the present day. We found that shrubs interacting with grazing had a positive effect on the small-scale vegetation mosaic and species diversity.
