Sumeček černý (Ameiurus melas) je v České republice nově se šířícím invazním druhem. Testovali jsme management tohoto druhu na několika lokalitách. Výsledky ukazují, že redukce jeho populační hustoty je zpravidla dosažitelná, na druhou stranu eradikace je proveditelná jen ve velmi malých lokalitách. Zcela zásadní je osvěta veřejnosti, která může zodpovědným chováním zabránit šíření tohoto druhu na nové lokality.

The Black Bullhead (Ameiurus melas) is a newly spreading invasive species in the Czech Republic. We tested the management of this species at several sites. The results show that reducing its population density is generally achievable, while on the other hand eradication is only feasible in very small sites. Public awareness is crucial, as the responsible behaviour of society as a whole can prevent the spread of this species to new localities.
