Autor popisuje nález housenek u nás poměrně vzácného bourovce březového (Eriogaster lanestris) na Kladensku. Housenky motýla tvoří hedvábná hnízda, z kterých se vydávají za potravou. Napadají více druhů stromů a keřů, v tomto případě lípu srdčitou (Tilia cordata). Stromy, ač byly zcela bez listí, nebyly motýlem nijak ohroženy, protože se po několika měsících opět olistily.
The author describes a finding of caterpillars of the relatively rare Small Eggar moth (Eriogaster lanestris) in the Kladno region. The caterpillars form silken nests from which they venture out in search of food. They attack several species of trees and shrubs, in this case the Small-Leaved Lime (Tilia cordata). Although the trees were completely defoliated, they were not threatened by the moth, as they produced new leaves again after several months.
