Křižák luční (Mangora acalypha) patří mezi naše nejhojnější pavouky. Vyskytuje se prakticky po celé republice, na téměř všech nelesních biotopech, kde bývá jedním z nejpočetnějších pavouků. Dokonce je hojně přítomný i v agroekosystémech, kde je významným pomocníkem zemědělců v boji proti hmyzím škůdcům. Díky charakteristické kresbě na zadní polovině hřbetu zadečku a síti s velkým množstvím paprsků a hustě vypředeným centrem je v rámci naší fauny nezaměnitelný.

The Cricket-bat Orbweaver Spider (Mangora acalypha) is one of the most abundant Czech spiders. It occurs practically throughout the entire country, in almost all non-forest habitats, where it is one of the most common spiders. It is even abundant in agroecosystems, where it is an important helper for farmers in the regulation of insect pests. Thanks to the characteristic markings on the rear half of its abdomen and its web with a large number of radii and a densely spun hub in the centre, it is an unmistakable spider within Czech fauna.
