V pobřežní zóně jezera Cep, vzniklého po těžbě štěrkopísku v CHKO Třeboňsko, nalezli autoři v roce 2003 sladkovodní mechovku bochnatku americkou (Pectinatella magnifica). V Evropě jde o nepůvodní druh mechovky (Ectoprocta) původem ze Severní Ameriky. Její výskyt byl v ČR poprvé zaznamenán v 50. letech 19. stol. v řekách Labi a Vltavě. Článek přibližuje morfologii a biologii této mechovky a ekologické podmínky místa nálezu.

The freshwater bryozoan species Pectinatella magnifica (Ectoprocta) was found in the littoral zone of the Cep sandpit (Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve, South Bohemia) in 2003. P. magnifica is a non-native species in Europe, originating from North America. In the 1950s it was recorded in the Labe and Vltava Rivers for the first time in what is now the Czech Republic. The article describes the morphology and bionomics of the invertebrate as well as the habitat where it was found.
