Proudění vzduchu v okolí listu (vítr) významně ovlivňuje výměnu plynů (hlavně vodní páry a oxidu uhličitého) a tepla mezi listem a atmosférou.

The airflow around the leaf (i.e. the wind) significantly influences the exchange of gases (mainly water vapour and CO2) and heat between the leaf and the atmosphere. These leaf-atmosphere interactions, including the exchange of momentum, have been „imprinted“ in evolution in the morphology, anatomy and physiology of the leaf blade and petiole. The paper discusses both the principles of wind effect on transpiration and photosynthesis and the adaptations that have enabled plant leaves to optimise their functions.
